Welcome to Springs Hill Vineyard and Wines

 

Our wine is from a single vineyard in an elevated sub-region of McLaren Vale known for the particular quality of its grapes. Dry grown vines are slow to establish but yield concentrated fruit that we ferment in low open vats, basket press, and age in predominately older French oak barriques for 18 months. The grapes are grown and the wine made, aged, and bottled on the family estate by brothers Anthony and Gary Whaite. It expresses the terroir of this special region.

 

July 2009 Update - "James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2010"

 

Our four wines from the 2007 vintage are all included in the new edition of James Halliday's Wine Companion. Springs Hill Vineyard is listed as a 5 Star winery, with two of our four wines receiving a score of 94.

In addition Springs Hill Vineyard was listed in the "Ten of the Best New Wineries" category, and in the "Best Wineries by Region" for Mclaren Vale. Finally, in probably our best result our Mourvedre was listed in the national "Best by Variety" category.
